Alouette 1/3 scale
Model Descrption
This 1/3 scale museum model was built for the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature in Winnipeg. Allouette was Canada’s first satellite, launched in September of 1962.
This model, because of its complex shape, was framed from plywood and doorskin, with a strong center-core of metal, then covered with thin plastic paneling.
The solar panel sections are vinyl decals individually applied to each side of the model. In 1/3 scale, this model is over 18 inches in diameter.
