Gene Cernan & Saturn V
Gene Cernan (below), last man to walk on the surface of the moon in December 1972, poses beside a 1/48 scale model of the Apollo Saturn V 500F, built by Proach Models.
500F is the Integrated Test Facility, the first “all up” test fit of the Saturn V at Launch Complex 39A in 1966. The actual 500F is located at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville is now the home of this 1/48 scale replica.
