RCAF CF-105 Avro Arrow
In the latter half of the 1950’s Avro Aircraft of Toronto was awarded a contract to develop an advanced fighter bomber for the Royal Canadian Air Force.
The result was the CF-105 Avro Arrow, which reportedly could reach speeds beyond Mach 2.5, a record for any fighter aircraft of the day.
Sadly in 1959 the project was cancelled by the newly elected Diefenbaker government.
Had the Arrow seen full development and production it would have rivaled some of the newer fighter jets we have today.
