Proach Models Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11

In 2009, we were honoured to stage an exhibit at Vancouver BC’s HR MacMillan Space Center commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, which took place on July 20, 1969. We made a model of the lunar base layout as well as two astronaut figures and model replicas of the experiments they performed during the Apollo 11 mission.

In addition to that model we also included a 1/14 scale of the Orion multipurpose crew vehicle in order to represent the future of manned space exploration.

The Apollo 11 anniversary exhibit stayed at HR MacMillan Space Center for three months that year and was very well received by the public.
